A postgraduate level 8 course worth 15 points, PACS802 Political Climate Change in the Pacific runs for 12 weeks in Semester II of 2016 in the Faculty of Maori and Indigenous Development at Auckland University of Technology City Campus.
This paper explores how national, regional and international politics shape the language and relationships of climate change in the Pacific. Consequential to this, the course looks at the politicisation of climate change among Pacific Islands states and how it has become an identity marker of development and resilience in the face of vulnerability.
